9 die in Andhra after consuming hand sanitiser due to lack of liquor

Nine people have died after consuming an alcohol-based hand sanitizer in Andhra Pradesh's Kurichedu town in the last two days. The police stated that a total of 20 people consumed hand sanitizer due to the non-availability of liquor amid a lockdown in Kurichedu. The police are trying to ascertain if the victims had only consumed sanitizer or mixed it with spurious liquor.
